How many of you guys hunt big game with a trad bow?
This is my elk hunting setup for this season. I am shooting a Big Jim Thunderchild 52lbs@28. Shooting Easton Axis 400s with a 75gr insert and 20 grain 1916 collar and 150 grain Magnus Stingers. Total weight is 538 grains.

1994 Bill Kerner Allegheny Mountain Recurve with his Competition Speed Limb that actually has a strip of carbon from butt to tip. 58 lbs at 27 5/8” with 2117s - then, now, forever.

Smart build with the footers, I am going to play with some old arrows I have and put internal and external footers on them, should add the weight and foc I want and be quite bullet proof!

I must say as little as I have shot them they seem down right indestructible. Just keep in mind if you put footings on it will stiffen your arrow. Start with the footing on the arrow before you bare shaft tune.
