Beaverhead/Salmon Bear

Hey everyone. I'll be up in the beaverheads northwest of Salmon Idaho this month for a backpacking/bear hunt trip. Anyone else chased bears in this area? I've only hunted bears in the fall and I know their spring patterns differ. I admit it will more of a backpacking and exploring trip than a hunting one, but I figured since it's the season might as well add some hunting in there. Just wondering if anyone else has been bear hunting in the area and what your experience was.

I have scouted and hunted that area a lot in September and October. Probably close to 100 days and have only seen 2 bears. It might be better in the spring, but who knows. I never see a lot of bear sign, maybe because that area does not produce much for berries.
