Is it just me or does the new SG clothing look like it is designed more for interstellar travel than hunting? I'm sure it is great stuff but I'm kind of confused as to whether I should be wearing it to chase sheep with a bow or little green men with photon beams.

Sitka and Kuiu both have carried astronaut gray clothing in the past. I'm not sure why it's an issue with SG apparel

I'm more than OK with gray for hunting, but it looks a shiny as can be and the pieces and fit just scream space suit to me. Like I said, I'm sure they are top quality, but they just don't look like something you would see being worn in the mountains on earth.

I'm not smart enough, or motivated enough, to figure out how to steal pics from the SG site so here is the website.

Yeah, they're a bit Lost in Space but you wouldn't wear puffy britches around without having something over them anyway. I've sat on a ridge, being scoured by the cold wind and a pair of those to jump into would have been pretty sweet. They look like they could save a guy the purchase of a better sleeping bag too.

I’m not in the market for any puffy gear, but if I were, I definitely wouldn’t let this color have any affect on my decision making. If it were hunter orange, florescent green, hot pink, etc., than yeah, I wouldn’t be interested, but the color they chose doesn’t offend me in the least.

I have it and am a fan. The look is nice, it doesn’t look to shinny IMO. Would much rather be seen in this then Vias🤭.

The fill distribution is spot on and the fit is really nice. I went to all synthetic puffys up until this and am glad to have it as an option.

Overall the SG added clothing has been Awesome, the pants fit amazing and function the same.

Mine arrived early last week, haven't taken it off since. Fit and feel are way better than my Kuiu Super Down Pro & Ultra.

The jacket that arrived is much more matte and a darker grey than the website and literature make it look. I think it just looks shiny under studio/marketing conditions and directly under light sources. It actually seems to "change" appearance to an overall lighter color in direct sunlight, and much darker in overcast weather...but limited shine in natural light.

It definitely has a slight "shiny" finish in direct sunlight. However I've received 0 comments so far about the perceived "shininess", and I live with a bunch of fashionistas who would jump all over it...so I take that to mean it's not noticeable to them under normal conditions.

Image of it's "normal" appearance for you attached, pardon the dirty mirror.

Edit: For reference, I am standing ~2' directly below a 35-watt ~2300 lumen LED bathroom light and this is the shiniest it looks.

My wife has shot several animals with that puffy on. I have shot a lot of animals wearing the brown LLP its very shiny. I would not have any issues hunting with either of these puffies.

I’ve killed archery bulls and almost killed a mulie wearing the same jacket. If you are stressed the MH stretch one is 4way stretch and dull/mat finish but weights almost twice.

Stretch is a touch warmer but again twice the weight
