Note today from Whittakers saying they expect to take delivery late this week or early next. Guns to go out promptly after that. I presume the paid in full pre orders will be filled first. Cutting it close but I could actually be in the woods with a creedmoor this year. I wonder if the deer will notice the superior ballistic performance over my lazy old 308.

They'll just fall over from fright when they get the news !

I got mine at SW as well for $750. Im just getting started shooting but it is shooting factory 140 ELDMs right at .5moa. The 147s will have put 6 out of nine in about .25 but the other three open the groups to .75. I did an OCW with 150 SMKs today with bullets seated with the boat tail junction at the neck shoulder junction. Using RL26 working up in .5 increments from 46-49 I found what looks to be a sweet spot 48-48.5. I had a faint increase in bolt lift at 49 but no pressure signs on brass or primers. I did not chrono the loads as I am experimenting with the Magneto Speed on and off for accuracy on my sporter barrels.

How are you liking the magneto so far ? I've got one sitting in the box, haven't had the time yet ......

Love it but I think it may be affecting accuracy of some barrels. It moves poi on most. My CA Ridgeline 30 nosler is not affected at all. It's nice not worrying about the sun.

This was seating depth testing after an OCW with 150 SMKs and RL26. Didn’t chrono a bunch but it looks to be right at 2780 FPS.

Sierra lists stepped BCs. The upper number is .713. I am hoping they will average out around .680-.690. I also have to do some serious temp testing as I do not trust Alliant powders.

Not sure if that listed weight is a misprint or not but that is 1lb more than the super light.

I don’t think that is right. I think the CTR is about 1lb more than the lite and the lite is 5oz more than the super light in the same caliber and barrel length. It seems like some of the 6.5 are 22 inch barrels and some are 24 and a previous poster said that a 22 inch lite barreled actions weighs the same as a 24 inch super lite.

That previous poster was me saying my 22” regular Tikka barreled action weighed the same as my 24” super light barreled action. I can’t compare stocks because my non super light is laminate.

Testing 147s today with RL26. I’ll have a Mesa for sale soon.

I purchased the longer stock and it is 25oz. The shorter one is probably 24oz.

The plastic Superlite stock is 28oz so this only saves 3 oz but it obviously is in a completely different league. The grip is a very nice compromise between a classic and all out vertical grip. I will be doing a review on it once I get some more time behind it. I think the longer one will be better for prone shooting but I think the shorter one is more appealing cosmetically.
