Haha, well I will have zero familiarity with any unit and I don't know exactly where to look for em. We have 3 weeks to hunt though so hopefully we can figure things out after the first week or two.
Basically one of the McCall biologists told me that there probably wouldn't be much of a point going to the river breaks this late in the season because they're so low. She said a lot of the green probably wouldn't be fresh anymore and a lot of bears might be higher up

That's about what I figured. Just leaving it open for anyone who has specific advice for any of the units.

Dry salami and similar things have been in my mind and sound really appealing. I think I would have given half my ammo on a lot of my hunts for a hard sausage.
All good stuff. The nut butters are probably something I'll do. I like the idea of doing ramen and chicken or tuna for a lunch instead of just cold shit. I will definitely use that list of mountain house meals when I'm picking them out.
