I seem to have normal width forefoot and very narrow heels. I tried on a set of Zamberlan vioz this morning because I was told they are fairly tight in the heel but normal up front. Seemed to fit pretty well. I understand their backpacking last, the one in this boot, is pretty good at locking in...
Sounds like it might not be worth it to be actually calling bears for me... Maybe I just need to bring one in case I want to get ones attention and bring it in. Can't bring my electronic.
Would using a cow diaphragm call and making calf noises be a good bet
I see. We're bivying several days at a time so I won't be able to bring my electronic. Might be worth it to run it from nearer the truck on inbetween days.
And no grizz where we are.
Going spring bear in 3 weeks, Idaho. Hunting into mid June. Do y'all prefer rabbit, fawn, calf or cub distress? Would cub be more likely to fetch sows? I already have a mouth cow call and all I'd have to do is practice making calf noises with that.
Thanks y'all

I'm settled on 25 now, maybe some in 19A if we feel like it. Pretty much locked in there. I appreciate you offering help. If you plan to hunt in the area pm me
That's about what I figured. Just leaving it open for anyone who has specific advice for any of the units.
I will definitely keep elevation flexibility in mind as I e scout though, I hadn't thought about that much before. Thanks
First of all thanks to everyone who's helped out for the WEALTH of information I've gained from this forum.
I'm down to a handful of choices for Idaho bear this May-June. Looking between units 25, 19, 19a and 14. My basic idea was to either hunt 25, or utilize the Salmon breaks in one of the...
