I broadened the title of this post so hopefully other folks would share their similar favorite stores that are almost to their hunting destinations.
Winston General Store in Winston, New Mexico:
If you're ever going in to the the Gila from the I-25 corridor, this little store has a bit of everything and caters to hunters (even their door alarm is an elk bugle). Fuel there is essentially the same price as it is along the interstate (dunno if they have diesel; I think they do), and there's nothing like coming out from a backpack adventure and having an ice cream sandwich. They have showers as well. My first trip in there 4 years ago I didn't know what they had to offer and drove right past, but now I always stop and grab something there on my way in or out to support these guys, they are a valuable resource to this rather remote part of the state.
