Thanks much for your help. One last question as I try to figure all this out. Did you find the FL Uncompaghre to be significantly warmer than the Kelvin Lite Hoody or are they about in the same class? You are one of the few people who have used them both.

Having owned both, I do not consider the Uncompaghre to be much warmer than the Kelvin Lite Hoody. I sold the Uncompaghre because it did not fit into my system. It is only marginally warmer than the Kelvin Lite, but weights more and is more bulky.

Here is my system for my upperbody for anything down the high 20s - low 30s:

First Lite Wick SS Crew
Sitka Core Heavyweight Hoody
Sitka Kelvin Lite Hoody
Sitka Cloudburst Jacket

When it gets colder than that I do one of two things:

Replace the Kelvin Lite Hoody in the system above with the Kifaru LPP

or

Layer the Sitka Kelvin WS Hoody over the entire system above.

I'm wearing ex officio boxers right now at the office, but I wouldn't trust them on a multi day hunt. Grab a couple pair of FL or Kuiu merino options.

I have run the Exoficio for many multi-day hunts and would stick with them I wear them all the time. I tried the FL and they are in the trash after the crotch wore thru in no time.
