Dogs and Big Game Hunting

Illeagal in Idaho too. We have a dog and we are walking a fine line as he goes and I mean goes everywhere with us. Have to leave him in the truck if big game hunting. Which usually means I stay with the truck and the other half goes hiking/hunting.

I have a Large Munsterlander. See my avatar. Pointer/retriever and the smartest and best dog I’ve ever owned. These dogs were developed in Muenster Germany as all around hunting dogs with blood tracking as one of their uses. I’ve taught her to find elk sheds. Last year my son took a large muley in a rough wilderness area and sent me a text message from inreach but I didn’t save it on my phone and had no cell service when I got to the trailhead but knew the general area. My Munster picked up the blood trail and took me right to where he was boning it out.
