Drying boots with newspaper

Two shop towels folded to fit lengthwise and a foot warmer work well. Boot will be dry, or mostly dry, by the AM.

Edit: Remove insole and pour out any water first.

We used newspaper growing up all the time. Still do sometimes. I think one of the best is to heat up dry oatmeal in a frying pan and pour that into your boots. Just don't mix them up with the ones you eat :)

On rainy days in the tent I fire up the stove and dry things out. I might un-crumple a newspaper piece and actually read it. Footnotes you know.....😂

I've used newspaper many times, but I was thinking that a large bag of silica gel beads would do a better job and could be reused.
I have a set of dryers exactly like what you're describing. Cant remember where i got them but i pack them when we are hunting out of the wall tent. Good for three or 4 uses and then stick them in the microwave to reset them.
