dumping/littering on public/all land

Every county in my state has free dumps...they take anything from motor oil/batteries to mattress and tires and every thing in between...people still leave trash all over the place..only trashy people litter.

Unfortunately it is a problem most places. I remember climbing down a road embankment in Scotland to swim in Loch Ness, everything looked clean from the road but as soon as I dropped over the side there was trash everywhere (washing machines, furniture, and such).

It goes beyond just the outdoors. The other day we road the Alaska Railroad as my kid had been asking to do it. Two guys from TX up to hunt moose were in front of us. We visited a bit. Anyway, at the end of the trip the train crew asked that everyone pick up their trash and throw it away on the way out. The two moose hunters left their's in their seats. It is like these two grown men thought their mother was going to clean up after them.
