I like the Howard Leight by Honeywell Impact Sport Sound Amplification Electronic Shooting Earmuff, Camo (R-01530), good for outdoors and hunting, i can hear a twig snap in the distance with the volume tuned up full.
At the range i add Radians CEP001-0 Custom Molded Earplugs inside the HL's

Those howard leights are garbage if you have a big ol melon head like me. They seem to work well for some folks but just a warning if you are cranially well endowed...lol they dont seal around my ears at all, might as well not have ear pro in at all.

The best ones I've found so far are MSA Sordin Pros, they are spendy but definitely a buy once cry once deal for me.

If I'm out hunting in a situation not conducive to the big ear muff style I have the cheap tethered together plugs and stick them in right before I shoot.

Another user of the Howard Leight Impact Sport. A nice low profile design with good low level sound amplification that won’t break the bank. And for the record, I’m not cranial well endowed so fit isn’t an issue. :D
