FNG to the ammo world....I am mostly archery but getting back into firearms...does ammo go "bad"? I know just need to shoot and find out, but I have factory 30.06 and 300wsm ammo about 10 yrs old, keep in my gunsafe in and safe is dry/dehumidifier system. Just wondering.

If your peak temperature is less than about 80° f and the temperature swings happen very slowly 30 ought 6 ammunition should be good for 50 years. I found a batch of federal 36 grain hollow point 22 cartridges in 1997 that were $10 for a box of 500. They shot better than cci, winchester, almost anything that I could shoot, so I bought one box a week until they were gone. Best purchase I ever made on ammunition. I still have one box left and they outshoot everything except wolf match and Ely match. And those are just garbage 22 shells not a boxer primer.

If it's ever been kept in your truck at 1:30 f or 140F I've personally seen some bad things happen there after a few years.
