Improvised tourniquets

The topic of tourniquets comes up periodically, and has been referenced in a few recent posts, including the reliance upon/use of an improvised tourniquet. I came across this video on another forum. Whether you carry and plan to use a CoTCCC recommended TQ or not, the video is informative. I for one had never thought through the steps that would be required to create an improvised TQ - and to secure it. Although I try to have the right gear whenever possible, training is key - including to plan for being without.

His wound packing demo actually helped me quite a bit seeing him demo the technique. Thanks for sharing. We all carry CAT TK's, figure if I had to improvise something we'll run out of time.
