Hi, was curious how effective the brake is on a kimber MA such as 30-06 for recoil and rise? Any better after market options? Thank you

There are probably better options but the Kimber brake on my MA 308 works really good. I have switched over to a silencer now.

From a cursory look at their site, it looks like the brake you mentioned is a radial brake. The short answer is there are more effective brakes on the market but whether they'll work with that thread pitch is another question. Much like deerhunter, for several years I've only used suppressors and never brakes anymore. Having said that you'd usually want a 5/8-24 thread pitch for those too so they wouldn't work on that barrel either.

Seems like a pretty basic brake but they work fine. I find the mountain ascent 300 win mag to be pretty easy to shoot with the brake. I'm sure some other aftermarket brakes are better but I don't care enough to even look at them online.
