If you end up wanting some more brand new already chamfered never fired Bertram brass let me know. I got a bunch atleast 150 I’ll sell at $1 a round or if anyone else wants some as well.

I will say RL-26 has gotten me 3180 fps with 178 eldx and just over 2900 fps with 212 eldx from a 24” barrel 300 wsm.
Brass still available?

Thanks for all the info guys! I'm waiting for my brass to arrive so I can start working on a load.

I think I'll grab a couple boxes of factory ammo for a cow elk hunt I have in a couple weeks. Any that you guys really like for elk from say 0-600 yards?

Lets get the specs on this rifle justin! I'm real curious how you do with the heavier bullets in this.

Hey Jon! This rifle is actually one I've had for a while but have never been totally satisfied with. It started out as a 300wm that shot very well but the rounds were so long that they wouldn't fit in the magazine or even eject. So, here's what I did and the parts used.

Tikka T3 action, Ceracoated black along with all visible metal on the barrel and brake
Bolt Fluted
Bolt handle swapped to Ti/carbon
Original Hells Canyon Armory Barrel (Rock Creek Blank) finished at 24"
Mcmillan Edge Fill Gamescout stock
Seekins muzzle brake
Mountain Tactical magazine
Xtreme Hardcore Gear rail
Seekins scope rings
Leupold VX3 6.5-20x50

This photo is the same rifle when it was still a 300 wm just a couple months back.

I bought a couple boxes of Federal ammo loaded with 180 Nosler Accubonds and they are shooting pretty well so far. The chrono'd at 3000 fps. I'm planning to try some 215 Bergers in it when I get a chance.

This was just to compare the length and test fit everything.

That's what I was hoping to hear! I have a magnum tikka action that I've been thinking of doing the same thing with. Really looking forward to seeing your results with the heavy bullets. If you get a chance to run an ELDM with a temp stable powder of some sort I'd be very interested to see the results. Not much info out there on the 300 wsm and heavy bullets

200 Grain Hornady Precision hunter and Nosler trophy grade 180 accubonds have been good factory fodder for me in a X Bolt Stainless Stalker.

200 ELDx, 66.9 grains H4831sc, 210m, Norma or Nosler Brass at around 2.90" COAL is my current go to. Not blazing fast but very accurate and consistent.
180 Accubond over H4350 was also very accurate and consistent in the past.

My WSM is light and has no muzzle device to reduce recoil so I'm not interested in pushing it harder than it is and am limited by a short action magazine. If i wanted more umph in a WSM i'd be trying Berger 200.20x or 215s over RL26. You could probably get the 180 elite hunters really humming too.

I went shooting this Saturday and wasn't super happy with the 300wsm. I'm not sure if it was the Leupold or the ammo, but I decided to switch it up. First thing I did when I got home was swap the Leupold 6.5-20x50 for a Nightforce SHV 5-20x56. Then I spent some time on Sunday at my reloading bench and came up with a load I'm going to try for a while.

My load is 70 grains of RL26 in Bertram Brass, topped with a 215 Berger. I'm about .020" off the lands with the bullet seated so the boat tail ends right at the neck/shoulder junction of the brass. Can't remember what the c.o.a.l. is off the top of my head. My velocity with this load was 2920 fps and I was getting sub moa accuracy so I loaded up a few and got my zero dialed. I'll report back once I get a chance to stretch it out a bit.

IMR 4831 and Nosler 180 Accubonds loaded hot and seated to fit in my Tikka magazine. Shot an elk at 75 yards and one at 400, both performed well I believe, as went completely through each one.
