Missouri - Kansas City Area

This is probably a dumb idea, but has anyone thought of organizing or taking part a "death hike" here in the MW? I follow the EXO guys and I am intrigued by what they do every year. I'm not suggesting flying to the Frank Church Wilderness or to the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim but maybe a trip to the Ozarks (or similar) some weekend and doing a 25-50 mile loop?!? Any thoughts or insight? Is someone already doing this?
