Smith cylinder stove melting?

I used my Kifaru cylinder stove for the first time and it got very very hot, to the point where the stove pipe started sagging into the stove body. Is this normal? Thanks

I get the seek stove pretty hot, no issues at all.

I had the Kifaru box for my 8 man. If I recall, one of the pipe components was a section that held the pipe in place and kept it from falling in because of little footers on the pipe.
Unless you didn’t put that piece in, (this is the piece that holds your spark arresters, too), I say you were tired!
