I really like my Sitka Apex pants they are an older version so maybe you can get them on sale. Very light and no vent but breath super well so have never felt I needed them, and they are like wearing pajamas and very very quiet. Also have quite rubber snaps, I just layer under for increased warmth. When the snow hits and temps drop around freezing I switch to the FL Chourraut foundry they have waterproof knee and butt with side vents and fairly wind proof. They are quiet enough for me but I would not call them quiet. One other thing to consider is if you wear gaiters in the snow is how they fit and where the knee pad falls I have short legs 29in inseam and this is problematic with the FL pants because the kneepad hangs lower allowing snow between the gaiter and the pant or the kneepad to be way up high and uncomfortable, not so much with the Sitka.
