Well, I guess they’ve hit the shelf. Saw this today at my local Scheels. Not sure why it’s worth what they have it for sale at, but to each their own.

My guess is they probably take the price of a base tikka and up the cost of bolt fluting and a break and that is about the price range. Sig saur has been great about putting out guns and then watching what customers modify and then putting out a new version with those mods as factory features. They get to siphon some extra $$$ that would have gun to the after market parts manufacturers and gun smiths and sell more guns at a high price point. All they have to do is monitor a few gun porn FB and Insta sites and they know what people want. It is genius marketing and you customers do the R&D for you.

I think the price is more of a question mark because it’s almost the same gun as the roughtech but with a stainless barrel. Looks like the price on that has gone up too, I swear it used to retail at $899 and now it’s at $1099.

I was sure that the stock would have a different feel, more like a hard rubber, maybe. So, it's literally just a different color of the other Tikka composite stocks?

3 of them at my local scheels. Looks a lot like a SS rough tech. Barrels appeared to be 22”. $1300 if I recall. Slick looking but not sure worth almost double a t3x lite/superlite.

My $799 Tikka T3x Lite 6.5 CM shoots sub 0.5” MOA with handloads. Wish they would do a Superlite in 6.5 PRC.

What’s the difference between the Ember and regular Roughtech?

They have different color stocks and the Ember is cerakoted and the Roughtech is not. Other than that everything else is identical.

Ember is stainless, Veil is Cerekoted, Roughtech I believe is just blued.

Big difference in durability?
I‘m certainly not an authority on metals, but given the choice and even where more money is required to get it, I’m always going stainless, preferably with cerakote on top. The Veil is a stainless barrel and action with cerakote on top, and that’s the cream in terms of weather resistance.

I saw one, and held it, at Adel Outfitters, in Adel GA, this past January (2023). I loved the feel of it.
