Weatherby vanguard build

I agree on the SD , not sure why? 2 things differently today. Temps were higher (92 compared to 78) and I did not crimp the neck. 967F83A6-4A90-4E0F-9485-81CB2FA5BFA5.jpeg
this was 2 weeks ago.
I am a very novice reloader, as in these are my first attempts!! Lol .

Well I don’t know how to share a video, but I was confirming long range with the 28 nosler. The sheep is 575. Hammered him 5 times in the shoulder, and confirmed out to 870, then it got to dark to shoot.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how you’re still liking the set ups. I’m gonna order a barrel from them once I can decide on length for a 6.5cm replacement

I could not be happier with the performance of the barrels. Both guns shoot great. During break in I was a little nervous, until I had close to 60 down the barrel, it was not great results. I have close to 100 and these last 40 have all been 1/2 inch groups or less. And I will be the first to say I am not the best shot!

only downside side with OMR was the communication after the barrels were ordered.

Well my desert sheep hunt opens this Saturday. The gun shoots amazing. I have confirmed long distance out to 1000. I have a sheep targeted and I have 9 days in a row to hunt.

Final load that I settled on was Hornady brass, 82 grain on N570, 177 grain Hammer Hunters, Winchester magnum primers.

and that’s the one bullet with Big Hanks name on it!!

So to explain a little... shooting steel at long range I was running out of MOA adjustment. I ordered this leupold , and seekins rings.

On the stock it was not fitting me. I handled one of stockys vg2 carbon fiber stocks and it felt so much better.

I am putting it all together and can’t wait to get to the range a play a little more. I am putting together the 28 nosler first. Hopefully have a report in the next 2 weeks!

The barrel nut? Yes, it needs a rub or 2 with sand paper to free float it. Other than that a great fit.

Glad to hear you like that stockys stock, I’ve had one of backorder since early December and still no eta

Oh boy that’s no good!!! I ordered 2 stocks. 1 arrived in 3 weeks, and the other should be to me in 4 weeks....per stockys.

What stock did you order?

The new vg2 carbon, short action has been backordered for a while, customer service said they did a run of long action first

I love the feel of it. The stock feels narrow/slim (that’s why I took a picture from behind to give everyone a view)and just fits me better. On top of that it is a pound lighter than the McMillan.

Stockys said that you do not need to bed the action, and it does have a snug fit.

How do you feel about the carbon block instead of pillars? Do they give you a torque spec? Is there fore-end flex?

I have been back and forth on ordering one. I probably would have already but they said the warranty is voided if I shorten the LOP for the kids' rifle. I thought the blue color would look pretty neat. The customer service has been awesome, even answering emails on the weekends for some wacky reason.
