Ok I have a few ideas here either a nice 243, or 25-06 or a 6.5 grendel or a 45-70 lever gun Ik it’s a lot of option but they are all very nice
If a guy can't get it all done with a 6.5 creed, 30-06 and a 300 win mag, he can't get it done. I'd spend the money on hunts, ammo, retirement, optics, new tires, boots, tents, possibly a good blade, a USA made backpack, etc. Just me and I did downsize myself recently. And haven't missed any of them.
I’ve looked into .280ai a ton. Basically an ‘06 on steroids. There looks to be lots of good factory ammo options. The only downside I’ve seen to .280ai is the cost of ammoIs the 280ai only a good purchase if you reload? Or are factory loads good to
Long gun wise what else would you add caliber wise?
I have :
.22
.223/556
6.8 Spc
3006
6.5 creedmoor
300 win mag.
also every shotgun combo and length.
I was thinking maybe a .270? Or a .280 but is it to similar to what i have? Also a .338 but not sure i will ever need that much fire power.
I really like my .280 and always recommend that caliber whenever someone asks if they are trying to decide between a .270 or a 30-06, since it is a great one that fits between the two. I’ve noticed that .280 ackley improved is becoming very popular so that might’ve an even better choice nowadays for availability and it’s little faster. I too have a .300 win mag and will also never need anything bigger, but something real big is intriguing like a .375 h&h just for the hell of it.Long gun wise what else would you add caliber wise?
