Rain jacket: Stone Glacier vs Sitka

Sitka Cloudburst Jacket vs Stone Glalcier M5 Jacket. Which one is superior as far as water proof/breathability, weight, etc? I currently own the Cloudburst. Looking at getting away from the camo patterns and enjoy SG equipment. But trying to decide if it would be worth the swap. Thoughts...

    Best cold weather glove.

On the search for a new cold weather/glassing glove. Either really cold or for glassing. Warmth is key. I like the idea of a removable shell. Wide cuffs to go over layer easily. Was thinking between FL Grizzly 2.0 SG Altimter mit BD Mercury mits Or suggestion something else...

    VX-5HD 3-15X56 vs VX-5HD 3-15X44

Don't know much about scopes. However, I got my hands on some Leupold scopes today and was really impressed with the VX-5HDs, specifically 3-15X44 and 3-15X56. The X56 comes in a Firedot 4 Fine illumination which I really like. Not sure about if the X44 does as well. One is $1499 (X56), The...

    StoneGlacier vs Western Mountaineering

Looking at these two brands. Clearly WM is top notch, also top dollar. I like the SG 15 bag, and it’s less $$. What would be a comparable WM bag. Pros and cons to either? I’m 5,9 175 pounds for reference.

Pants discussion (Timberline, Attack, De Havilland)

I own the Timberline and Attack pant. I am thinking of purching the De Havilland (lite or standard) How does the DH compare to the Timberline and the Attack pant? Obviously the Timberline is a warmer pant, but I like the hand pocket layout better, and the cargo pockets are way more easy to...

Sitka Core HW vs Firstlite Klamath vs Mtn Ops Grid Fleece: initial thoughts

Warmth: Firstlite Klamath, then a tie between other two. Fit: Sitka HW easily. Longer tail which is nice, appropriate arm lengths too. Klamath had super long sleeves which causes bunching, Mtn Ops slightly less long sleeves. Both don’t have thumb loops like the Sitka does(elastic band). The...

    Baselayer/Pants/Puffy?

I know the topic of baslayers has been discussed heavily but since I just got my "Biden Bucks", i wanted to spend some of it. Do people usually have some sort of base layer (merino/synthetic/blend), their pants, as well as a pair of "Puffy pants"? Obviously I'm sure weather is the main factor...
