Had a chance to test the Andiscan A2 Doppler chronograph
Once I figured out where I wanted to mount the unit and trimmed a piece to fit.
Set up was easy.
First few shots 1/2 didn’t record a shot.
After closely reading the manual I made an adjustment to the trigger sensitivity to 7 (down from 9) and adjust something that had to do with signal to noise ratio (SNR) there are 4 options 13, 17, 20, & 23. (Lower is for smaller bullets / higher for larger bullets) I set it to the Recommended 17.
Out of the next 30 shots I received 3 odd readings of 1582, 1582 and 1583. I’m not sure what happen and haven’t had time to figure it out.
Saving shot strings is simple (can save 100 strings of 100 shots).
Hook up to wii fi was simple and reliable so far.
Still more testing to be done with wii fi and tablet before I have a final thought.
Display was easy to read. I like just glancing over to see the data without having to come off target.

Overall impression is it’s a great lightweight device that’s easy to pack, setup & use.

If things continue as they have so far, I’ll be saying goodbye to magneto speed and Labradar.

My only complaint so far is the 3D printing especially the mounting hardware.

Keep in mind this isn’t the finish production model.

If your okay with making or modify the mounting hardware this might be a great upgrade to explore.

If not I might wait for them to improve the materials. 52EA601D-8275-464B-BCFE-39EF4D62C2B1.jpeg C24553DC-21EA-4E1B-B4DC-64C35F92E2CE.jpeg 795D012B-6565-4291-9933-8DD76E1C7C1E.jpeg 3E68E653-8121-4930-A415-35C7478793A2.jpeg CFFCF789-AF3D-4293-8EF3-FB935A0F2B0B.jpeg

I got those same 1500 fps readings. It only happened when using a brake. After emails with the guy making them I raised it up (it's way higher than in all the pictures) and now it reads fine. I'm using the default settings for .22 LR to .300 PRC from suppressed to braked and it's working great. I do change the velocity range from high to wide for .22 LR but that's it.

I made an aluminum plate attached to his vertical 3D printed part with an RRS arca/pic clamp. I can clamp it on anything.

The 3D printed case/parts are the production model. He said they are tougher than the injection molded cases he was considering. The 3D printed parts don't bother me but I can see how folks might be put off by it. It's certainly not a cheap product.

I ended up doing something similar and it worked for my 6.5 prc with 24” barrel and recorded 95% of my shots. With my 7saum with 22” barrel only recorded 50% so to get above the muzzle blast I just put it on a tripod (didn’t want to go that high on my rifle)
Every since I put it on the tripod have recorded 150 shots without error.

I have setup multiple times and it’s super fast and easy

I have had one of the 3D printed tabs on the unit break and not sure how to fix it. IMO it’s an awesome device for recording shots but the material housing it is subpar.

I refused to use a tripod. I would have kept the LR. I need to be able to move it to many rifles quickly and not worry about lining it up properly.

I might be able to print you another part of you show me em what broke. I printed a longer one and could probably modify it.

I think it would take a Miracle to fix it. I mounted in on a modified mount to get up above the muzzle blast. first shot snapped the mounts. I am now forced to use it off a tripod. I have not been impressed with the quality of the 3D material of the unit or mounting components. This could easily have been a multi million $ product and the gold standard for chrono graphing shots. Not sure how many want to pay that much money then have to create the mount and hope it doesn't break the unit housing.

I have attached a photo of the broken pieces and the rod I used to get it above the muzzle break blast.
I welcome your thoughts on how to fix.

I wish I didn’t have to use a tripod, it’s kind of defeats the point of the A2. Attached is a picture of the broken part of the unit. I had made a modified attachment to get above the muzzle blast. I used a piece of steel that slipped into the unit perfectly, but first shot they snapped. Love the technology but I have been disappointed in the quality of the materials.
If I fix the broken part, I will likely coat the sides of the unit with an epoxy to add some strength

Wow, that's way broken! Have you emailed him? He responds quickly.

How tight of a fit was the steel holding the unit? I initially adding some felt to the hanger to make it a tighter fit and he said that was actually detrimental. It needed to be a bit loose. I'm wondering if yours was too tight.

I didn't feel tight. It slid in smoothly with room on the sides and front to back. I used the calipers and its .4480 wide and .0880 thick. I have reached out but haven't had a reply.

Yeah, if more people posts pictures like that the product is toast no matter how good it is.
