Here's two cartridges that I'm soon to have chambered up and ready.

6PRC with .200 Freebore for the 108 ELDM's. 9lbs scoped

7-300 Norma Mag Improved with .220 Freebore for the 180 ELDM's. 10lbs scoped

Both should be around 3300FPS with 26" barrels.

I kind of just like running numbers and stuff for fun, and for comparison. I try to do something new every year to keep me learning and shooting often. We all know that you can pretty much kill anything in North America with anything. So none of this stuff is really necessary. It's just for personal fun in all honesty.

Switching from a 300 Norma Mag Improved with 225 ELDM's at 3000FPS, to a 7-300 with 180's at 3300 actually saves me some recoil, and gains some insane trajectory and wind drift, as well as higher impact velocities out to an excessive distance.

Next barrel, 300nmi +p and run a 245-250 bullet behind n570!

Or 300 Lapua improved +p. I’ve seen a 245 berger over 3200fps in that setup.

I actually looked into the 30-338 and 338 Lapua Improved. But I decided to go down to 7mm and shoot those crazy high BC bullets, at even faster speeds, with way less recoil.

The 190 A-tip, 195 EOL, 190 LRHT and 180 ELDM are all around that .4 G7.

I’m more concerned with the hottest cartridge/bullet I can shoot, and still spot impacts, in a 10lb rifle. If I go bigger, I more than like need to go heavier on the rifle also.
