There isn’t really a one and done solution here. Depends on distance on foot, how many nights, how many people you will be with, the weather, how many time you are setting up and breaking down camp, etc. If you hunt with a buddy, get a 3-4 man tent and let you budget be your guide. Personally, tent is 100% necessity. Add some specifics to your trip and these guys will point you in the right direction.
