I have a question
So with elk season slowly getting closer I’ve been thinking about hunting Roosevelt bull elk with my 270 wsm shooting 140 Nosler accubonds. Or should I jump up in bullet weight to the 150 Nosler accubonds

Love my 270 wsm. Shooting the exact same loads as well. I’ve killed elk, caribou, and oryx with mine. Last elk was almost 500 yds and blew right through destroying the lungs.

The last 4 out of 5 elk I've killed have been with my 270 wsm. Ranges of 748, 465, 465 and 425. It hammers them. 3 dropped where they stood and one staggered and fell. I shoot the 170 Bergers.

I’ve wrestled this question for years before taking my 270 short mag into the elk woods. I need to quit that because it’s done an excellent job every time. I shoot the 140 Barnes and I won’t change caliber or round anytime soon.

I’ve shot one bull elk with a 270 WSM (Sako Tecomate) with 150 Nosler Partitions. Two complete pass through’s at 300 yards. You will be fine with the 140 Accubond!

I think it’s easy to get wrapped up in caliber. I did this summer but ultimately took my 7mm-08 on a moose hunt and it worked fine. I wouldn’t hesitate to take .270 on elk if I shot it well.
