Fieldcraft Special run question

Other than the obvious barrel length etc what is different? Is it a heavier contour barrel? I may use it in competition in factory Sporter class off the bench and hunting. Is it worth the extra 200 to 300 hundred over the regular version.

There are I think 3 variations of the specials that I'm aware of - all in 6.5cm. For the non-cerekote one, the only difference I believe is a longer (24) and heavier (#2 contour) barell; basically the same barrel as on the long actions. I'm not really seeing a premium on the specials as since they stopped production on the fieldcrafts the price has firmed up on all of them.

Does the Cerekote version have the heavier barrel? Looking at 6.5 Creedmoor if caliber matters

I don't think so, but you can call them and ask. They are pretty good about answering with a human!
