I want to buy a Swarovski 65mm 20-60 spotting scope. The ATS model. Is this me, or is there something else that is better for the money? Thanks

I have a Kowa and am very happy with it. With that being said though, i have not had a chance to look through swaro to say whether or not it is better or worse

I went from an older (non-HD) 65mm Swaro to a Kowa 77. Still early on, but I really like the Kowa. Use it for range use as well as hunting. Plan on giving it a good workout next week in Utah

In a 65mm the Kowa 66A or Swaro 65 ATS would be the two I would be looking at. Don’t think you can go wrong with either. Pick between barrel focus or dual course/fine focus mechanism.

I just compared these two scopes side by side on a sheep hunt. The Kowa 66A was certainly a superior scope in my mind. Much larger field of view and could resolve more detail at distance.

According to the specs I have seen online the Swaro has the bigger FOV, don't think the FOV comment above is accurate? Maybe Doug at Camerland can confirm?

Have you looked through both scopes? The difference in FOV between the Swaro ATS 65 and the Kowa 66A is significant. The TE-11WZ 2 25-60x eyepiece is on another level compared the the ATS 20-60x.
