Did someone say single shot!? I will be hunting with this one in the near future. Its a 45-70 and I have a couple good loads for it. It‘s now setup with a tang peep and very accurate.
The Sharps 45-70 has been haunting me for a few years now. I was very close to purchasing one a while back, but decided I needed to get a few more and/or bigger critters down with my Ruger's with a scope before it would be practical for me to spend the money to go more traditional with a Sharps, but it's on my list. Maybe when I get the kids out of diapers haha.
What maker did you go with? Is it Shiloh or Pedersoli? Or someone else?

It’s a Pedersoli. My wonderful bride gave it to me as a Christmas gift last year. It’s something I always wanted. Once I got my loads figured out (which was quick) It will group under 1” at 100 yards.

Wow!... That's amazing. You're a lucky man on all counts!! I'd love to try that setup on a hunt. Have you tried shooting out farther with your peep sight?

I have shot out to 175 yards so far. When our weather breaks I’ll try and take it out to our 400 yard range. For hunting I want to be inside of 200 yards. That 530 grn bullet really drops off fast.

That's fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I'd love to see what kind of damage that 530 grn can do.

Cannot beat the sharps rifles, I run a C sharps ARMS rifle in 45-70 but shoot strickley BP cartridges. I want a 50-110 x 3 1/2 next go around.
