So I am haveing trouble finding a consistent load. I am useing IMR4895. At 43 grains 139LRX bullets haveing trouble finding consistency. It has grouped well at 2.855 overall. Bullet is .111 of the lands but I was getting sticky bolt. I have seated out to.075 with not much deviation. Is this as good as it will shoot or should I start testing again at .010 jump and work backwards now I wanna keep velocities up and pressure down. I will be hunting moose elk and bear and need the speed. Groups ranging from 1-1.5 it's my 5th tikka and I have never been this stumped. Should I try a different bullet or keep trouble shooting.

"Consistency" in what way? Groups, speed, deviation? The 139 LRX may need more twist than what the Tikka has. Barnes lists 9.5 and the Tikka is 10. R15 works best in mine but I use the 120 TTSX.

Ya just the groupings. Quite a.few variables tomrule out but I've never had this much trouble with a tikka. Could vary well be the twist. It slings hornady whitetail 139s very well so back to thw drawing board.

That would make sense, the interlocks used in the Whitetail loads are significantly shorter than the 139 LRX and wouldn't require the faster twist.

I would guess that your load is a bit too hot & that barrel is too slow for the LRX. Berger calculator shows marginal stability, even at 2960fps in a 9.5. Those are pretty bad groups for a Tikka. I got rid of a Tikka 7mm-08 because of the barrel before I ever shot it since I bought it before looking at what I wanted to shoot in it. Now working with a Ruger American Go Wild which has I think 8.5" twist. I would switch to the 120 TTSX. That will get you an effective range of about 525 120, vs. maybe 625 with the 139 to keep above 1000 ftlbs. energy.

Well after reading to all the internet say barnes need jump I went the opposite and it shoots well enough at .010 of the Lands for a elk and moose and whitetail hunt this year. Thanks for the input.

I would try a different powder like varget if it was me I shoot a 708 AI and absolutely love it I wouldn't be too worried about the groups at 100 yards I would shoot it at 200 or 300 and see how well it does it might surprise you that I 1 inch group at 100 holds pretty true out to 300
