Western NY to Colorado Springs- which route to choose

well from northern virginia, we took 70 out to rifle colo, and 80 back. 70 was WAY better. with my f250 being over 7000lbs, i got double hammered on all the tolls along 80. plus we stopped for the nite in joliet, IL and what a total craphole that was. despite being tired, got back in the truck and drove another two hours east. scenery was relatively similar both ways, lots of flats. i'm def doing 70 both ways next time. and 80 had more construction, which really sucked after the big tolls.
