What tents should I be looking for???

I wouldn’t call it overkill. It’s substantial though, just need to vent it. You can get an all mesh inner for it for summer use, which might be nice.

You could also go with just the tub floor. You could take off the web truss to save weight also.

I’ve looked at Kuiu, Stone Glacier, Hilleberg and many others. Tarptent will be dropping their new 4 season tent here shortly. 92” internal length, under 3.5lbs, TNT fabric. Will be my next purchase.


TNT -

Besides making shelters that much inherently stiffer it also means fewer guy lines are needed, meaning less to carry and easier pitching in windy weather.

If this stays a true cross pole design (not the angled one they showed previously)- I'll definitely consider it, they supposedly have a solo one in the works too, that might fit the bill even more for me.
