Backcountry cooking

I'm headed into the backcountry of Alaska next year. As far as meal preparation other than mountain house, what are light weight options or substitutes?

I used a few different brands of meals in Idaho this year including MH and Paleo Meals to Go. By far the best tasting coupled with no gi issues was the Pack it Gourmet meals. The MH tased fine but I had some real stomach problems with it. PMG was really bland. Pack it Gourmet is all I am going to carry going forward.

I like the starkist tuna packs on bagel or in tortilla wraps when i backpack
