Well the Cascades and OP are open for hiking. And it’s been spectacular all season. Best air quality we’ve had in at least the last five years. Very crowded though. I don’t ever remember seeing so many out of state plates. I think every van lifer has made it out this way in the last few weeks and looking at the air quality maps it’s easy to see why.

Every time I think I want to move to the Inland NW summer smoke season rolls around and all of a sudden Puget Sound doesn’t seem quite so horrible.

I lived over there for 16 years... I got quite used to the mild summers and miss the living hell out of that cold water in the sound. One of my jobs took me all over the islands and I absolutely loved bopping around on the ferries.

I grew up in New Jersey and have a twin brother in Virginia.
I feel so blessed to enjoy our interior AK summers.

Those are some tough temps for forest fire issues. yikes.
Lived in the interior for a long time, can't say that I have missed it at all.

If decent fishing hadn't been so far away. A day'$ drive....

We are normally getting daily thunderstorms/rain every afternoon by now
but it has been sunny, hot, dry and windy here on the Gulf.
Having to water what garden I have left every other day.
Heat indexes around 110.
A good Tropical Storm would be welcome right about now.
