What’s the purpose of putting leather on your cheek rest? I first saw that on a gunwerks stock, and they did it on the grip too. I thought it was for the cool factor. Is there more to it?

Two main reasons-

1). If you need or want a slightly higher cheekpiece. Few will want if have this issue with the RokStok.

2). It feels good. In cold weather it is much more comfortable than the carbon, and in extremely cold weather your breath can and will freeze on the stock. Same in very hot weather- the stock sitting in the sun can be brutal on a face. The leather is much more comfortable than carbon/plastic.
I and others have been using leather and suede pieces in AR15 stocks for years for similar reasons.



Beyond the strictly functional aspects, it just feels good to use.

Enter, the Jellyfish. It’s a simple rectangle bag that is approximately 65% filled. It measures something like 7”x5.5”x2.5”.

Hey Form, I'm looking at getting a new bag for shooting at the range/field and hunting (to replace my old super stiff Caldwell bags) I have a bipod I usually use when shooting so will mainly use the bag for rear support when practicing shooting, but hunting I could potentially use it front or rear depending along with the pack.

I live just a bit north of you guys across the Canadian boarder so terrain is somewhat similar, I only hunting the mountains though, not much for open unless in a clear-cut. So I guess question is what bag would you suggest as a one all do all? Molinator, jellyfish or...

Thanks, anyone else input appreciated, diving alot heavier into practical field shooting to prepare for more hunting situations.
