Seems like Ryan clearly laid this out in post#1
0c12c9c44f4a8c1a41bc547fc5041b17.jpg

I'll try to further simplify it for you.
If your posting more about your political idealistic views instead of the thousands of hunting centric related topics on Rokslide that's a problem.
If your continuesly trying to start political based threads that's a problem.
This community would like to see less problems associated with the above so change or be shown the exit.

Yep, that was easy to understand.......which is also why I assume many aren't here anymore.......as we only saw them when the political threads showed up. But he never said "political threads or political talk is banned". He said if you're here "just to post on political threads" then they'll help you leave. Regardless, the political threads generally get pretty boring and they die themselves out. I stopped opening that Flu thread weeks ago when I'd come back and there were 5-6 new pages already. It's hard to keep any logical continuity with that many postings. But the last few weeks seems to have sparsed out with any political threads, and that's fine with me.

I feel personally attacked.

I think I'll write my congressperson and representatives about it.

While I do enjoy talking politics I enjoy the hunting related content more. I think we can get broad bipartisan support for this measure.

I think you guys are on the right track with limiting the political threads and the folks who instigate. I don't think it is a big issue here (yet). But, you guys are correct to get out ahead of it. IMO, political discussions online are worthless. That's why I don't even have Twitter or Facebook accounts. As has been pointed out, there are some hunting related topic where politics organically are involved, and that is all fine and good. But personally, I come to Rokslide for hunting related content. Not some bastardized version of Info Wars. Keep up the great work guys.

Hey guys, what backpack should I buy? My budget is 7 dollars.
Obviously your economic disadvantage is due to the evil capitalist system and once we throw off the evil capitalist system and establish a socialist paradise you will get the Kifaru Hunter frame you’re entitled to. Stop working for the man , join the revolution, and go topple some symbols of oppression ! ;)

This is good stuff 👍it's nice to be a part of a site that has consequences to immature internet behavior. If only we could also ban posts talking about where to hunt in a unit 😂 or asking if a unit is "good".

I was just poking around 24 Hour Campfire and can say I probably will not be spending much time on that form because of how political it is. If Rokslide became that way I would probably leave. So I really appreciate that steps are being taken to keep this a hunting form.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the decision to quell political talk. If everyone could do it calmly and without a lot of emotion it might not be so bad but it don't seem to work that way. I don't come here to talk about my political views but some can't seem to help themselves with injecting political slurs and political nick names about folks on the other side of their political view. That's where it starts and ignites a little fire in me and I'm sure in others to react then a seemingly non-political thread takes off. Sometimes politics is kinda like those double fly zippers on some pants. If you zip it up to pee or zip down to pee it seems to somehow become a political issue. We could argue the merits of both but for me, whichever I happen to grab first works best. I recently saw a story where the Gap is selling a half red, half blue hoody. I joked when I saw it that if you want to be hated by everyone, buy that hoody!

I'm all for limiting political discussions... the acrimony of politics has invaded every corner of life. Enough already.

On two separate forums I've been a part of, a "politics" section was attempted but the disagreeable folks just polluted every other section in spillover.

I have been a member of the fire for many years. It used to be a great place to get information from guys like Mark Doberinski but has certainly taken a turn. The gunsmith forum had a lot of experience in it with many top name smiths sharing information. The last 5 or so years has really been the end times for them.

I appreciate Rokslide's lack of nonstop ads, open comments (when a guy needs to be told he's an enormous pussy.....it seems to happen) and I certainly appreciate the lack of political crap.

I could give a shit how you vote, who you love and what you do at home. I appreciate stories of success and failure, I enjoy tech advice and guys who have deeper pockets buying stuff I can't and letting me know if it's time to finally let my kidney go or not.

I wouldn't change a thing.....except encouraging people to be careful about posting pics that show terrain in the background.

Good move, Rokslide. While political threads do serve a purpose, I believe the current tone of them are anything but helpful. Politics are best discussed in person and outside.

Too much anger in politics anymore. Everybody takes personally an opposing side. Do many on here realize the Constitution was argued, debated, refined for quite some time? It's likely some of them even went hunting white tail with each other, even though they had disagreements.

I prefer to not have to get my blood going with some topics.
Oh yes I know I could just Move On . ORG (sorry couldn't resist) and not read the posts.
But I am a weak and vulnerable individual who has strong beliefs myself, and sometimes I give in knowing I will pay the price because I can't stand lies, liars and folks who push false narratives on purpose..

We need to be like ESPN who is a sports network, and doesn't allow their channel to be used for anything but sports...oh wait never mind

We need to be like XM radio and just have all music all the time and no political propaganda influencing by talks and interviews with personal artists spewing their political opinions..... Oh wait, never mind

We need to be like a very specific topic related Podcast and only allow related topics... Oh wait never mind

As you can see, almost every platform has allowed the talking points, debates and opinions of politics to become intertwined with what their platform originated as.

I for one am glad to NOT see that here.

Many would miss out on some good hunting related topics, because the 20 minutes a day they could search these forums, would be absorbed by the political beatings back and forth while consuming a bag of popcorn.

I joined Rokslide finally (after lurking for years) because it seems like one of last forums that is civil. Silly opinions (about hunting or gear) are corrected immediately, and most conversations seem well thought out and worth the time to read. I appreciate your efforts to keep it honest and politic free (as much as you can).

This quote from above is perfect:

"I appreciate Rokslide's lack of nonstop ads, open comments (when a guy needs to be told he's an enormous pussy.....it seems to happen) and I certainly appreciate the lack of political crap."
