The higher GPI means you'll need more weight out front to get the same FOC % as the VAP's.

If you are looking for a small diameter shaft I would recommend the Black Eagle Spartans - not a micro diamater but the smallest diameter shaft that can handle a standard insert - problem solved. And with a GPI of 9 for .300's you will have better FOC as well.
