Heck they’re hardly available down here! I feel like I won the lottery! I’m pretty sure I have the first adjustable stock 6.5 PRC in the US 😂
I have a VX5hd and Atlas bipod on it and it weighs in at 10.5# little more than I expected but may have been the scale. Wish I would have weighed it before adding the accessories.

So initial thoughts on the way point. Fit and finish, accuracy, ergonomics are spot on!! It does weigh a little more than expect but is well balanced and carries well. If you are considering for a hunting rifle the adjustable stock is not needed and would save you 12 oz on total weight. I’m using Seekins Med rings with a leupold vx5hd and do not need to adjust the cheek weld at all so the extra weight will suck knowing it doesn’t need to be there. The muzzle break is one of the least effective I’ve shot, I have only shot 18 rounds through it so far but I feel they could have done better. My lighter Browning 6.5 prc recoils less but that is a minor issue as the prc’s recoil isn’t horrible anyways. Still breaking it in but 3/4 moa guarantee is easy to do with factory ammo and I’m sure could be better in more capable hands and hand loads will shrink that down. Overall I’m super happy with my 17 month wait on the rifle though I’m sure Springfield has lost a lot of sales to the lack of production and should rename it the waypoint 2022!

Great information! I recently bought a Springfield Waypoint 2020, chambered in 308 Winchester with the carbon fiber wrapped/stainless 20" barell option. I like the lightweight package but I expected more from the trigger. Really interested in your thoughts on the trigger.
Have you tested your 308? Just curious which ammo it likes the best.

Anybody else switch from the extended magazine to the hawkins precision? I have a 6.5 prc and the hawkins mag is incredibly tight fitting. I'm thinking about sanding and rounding the corners down to make an easier fit.

I stuck with the Accurate Mags, I got 2 spares from Midwest shooting. Post an update after you modify the hawkins.

I had a chance to look at one at the store this week. Looked great, felt great and handled well. However the bolt was a little “sticky”. What I mean by that is the bolt was definitely not slick and would bind up when trying to run it just a tiny bit quickly. Of course the action was dry as a bone and that may have contributed to the binding. I would have to run the bolt on one with some lubricant on it before committing to one. For a price north of $2200, I expected more out of the action. Otherwise it really did look and feel great.

I tried to shave as much off as possible, but it is still to tight. I'm thinking I might try the MDT model and see if that works.

Got my waypoint today, I’ve had it on order since Oct 2020! Mounted a front pic rail for my bipod and threw on a vx5hd I had sitting in the safe. Need to bore sight and hit the range!!
What height rings are you using, looks amazing!

Medium Seekins. My buddy has a fixed stock with a maven and he has mediums on order, I’ll try to remember to post on how his work.

Sweet looking setup, what scope rings are you running and which ammo grouped best for you?

I just tested some 6.5CM ammo at lunch. I had picked up the Hornady Precision Hunter 143 ELD-X that performed well with the earlier poster, and for comparison also the 140 & 147 gr Hornady ELD match both of w/ch I'd had on hand. The best was the 147grELD Match, @ 100 yds, the 147 gr. grouped 4 shots @ .75" and 3 @ .5", so its very capable. I'm not a great shot, so I'm extremely pleased.

Shots are all high as Friday I had zero'd @ 200 w/the 140gr ELD Match, and gotten .75" grouping. so the ELD Match ammo seems to do better whether 140 or 147 gr. than the ELD-X.

Here are some recent groups at 100 yards with ELDm 140 grain factory loads
I have installed my Waypoint 6.5 in a Masterpiece arms ultra lite chassis
The red dot is 1"
To be honest just a little disappointed in the groups
Should I be?
Would like to more consistent
Curious on others feedback
I wouldn't call myself a crack shot but no slouch either
I have tried other factory loads, POI changed but grouping was about the same with all
