Will a 1/2" of tire sidewall make a difference?

I am getting ready to purchase a 2021 F150 truck (max tow package). It has 275/60R20 Pirelli tires on it that are basically bald. My old truck has 275/65R18 Yokohama Geo15 AT tires, which also are an option for the max tow package, on that still have a lot of tread left (put on in November of last year) and thinking of putting them on the new truck. The 18" have a 7" sidewall where as the 20" has a 6.5". I have read about a higher sidewall being better for ride and for airing down for off road but would a 1/2" really make that much difference?

I really have no clue as to the answer and I know that ride is somewhat subjective to the individual.

Thanks

Providing you don't need the extra wheel diameter to clear brake calipers, switch 'em out and get the goody out of the other set. Tires are expensive, might as well get what you can out of them.

Run the 18s for as long as they're safe.
I'd be more concerned about the load rating on them if you plan to tow.
I have been running 275/70/18s on my 2015 F150 with a front spring upgrade to level it.
Perfect fit.

Another thing to factor in is the cost of tires. In some situations you can get a set of 18" tires and wheels for what it would cost for 20" tires alone. I couldn't quite get there on my truck and kept the stock 20's but I would rather have 18s.
