If there is one specialty in the hunting world that has leaped forward in the last decade, it is long-range hunting.  Love it or hate it, it’s here to stay. With the right gear (and lots of discipline and practice,) the long shot of yesteryear is now just a warm-up.

Enter Xtreme Hardcore Gear.  Based in Lewiston, Idaho, they cater to the firearm hunter and long-range crowd.  While the name my be new, the people behind the company are not.  Alpine Archery, a leader in archery gear since 1988, saw the need for high quality firearms accessories and created the brand, Xtreme Hardcore Gear, back in 2011.  With their already complete staff of engineers, CNC machinery, turning centers, and programs, they hit the market running. Like their archery lines, the firearm accessories are USA made right in Idaho.

They are not a “me too” type of company copying what is already out there but offering unique and innovative products.  Case in point: Alpine archery started the machine production of bow risers replacing the cast design.  What happened next?  The whole industry followed.

Xtreme Hardcore Gear will set the same path for the firearm and long-range accessory industry.  For example, as of press time nobody but Xtreme Hardcore Gear is building long range Picatinny scope mounts with an integrated level.

Xtreme Hardcore Gear also carries AR Tactical Levels, AR15 MuzzlebreaksGunsmith Installed Muzzle Brake Blanks, and much more.

One of their most popular items for the long-range hunter is the Force Recon Tactical Scope Rings with Integrated Level (pictured at the top of this post).  This system features a built-in level housed into the lower portion of the rear scope ring. Having the level in the base of the ring assures that it is always perfectly parallel to the top of the picatinny rail which is essential for long range shooting. A perfectly plumb scope and rifle are essential for the bullet to follow a true vertical line throughout the projectile’s path to the target.  Read more here.

The Recons retail for $179.95 but the crew at Xtreme Hardcore Gear has donated a set for giveaway right here on the Rok Blog.  Facebook haters once again can unite—this is not a Facebook giveaway! (enjoy, as this is the last one I have for a while).

Here are the rules:

Robby Denning
Robby Denning started hunting mule deer in the late 1970’s, only missing one season in 35 years. At 25, he gave up the pursuit of all other big-game to focus on taking the best bucks possible. He began hunting the West on a DIY budget hunting an average of 30 days a year for mule deer. Robby loves the hunt as much as the kill and the entire process from research to scouting to hunting. He’s killed four bucks over 200 inches in the last 15 seasons, mostly on easily-obtained tags. He owns a public-land scouting service and runs a private-land outfitting business helping other hunters in their pursuit of deer and elk. Robby has scouted and hunted literally thousands of square miles of mule deer country and brings a wealth of knowledge about these experiences with him. To him, the weapon of choice is just a means-to-an-end and will hunt with bow, rifle, or muzzleloader – whatever it takes to create an opportunity to take a great mule deer. He is also the author of "Hunting Big Mule Deer" available on Amazon. Robby believes all of creation is from God for man to manage, respect, and through which to know its Creator
