Robby Denning
Robby Denning started hunting mule deer in the late 1970’s, only missing one season in 35 years. At 25, he gave up the pursuit of all other big-game to focus on taking the best bucks possible. He began hunting the West on a DIY budget hunting an average of 30 days a year for mule deer. Robby loves the hunt as much as the kill and the entire process from research to scouting to hunting. He’s killed four bucks over 200 inches in the last 15 seasons, mostly on easily-obtained tags. He owns a public-land scouting service and runs a private-land outfitting business helping other hunters in their pursuit of deer and elk. Robby has scouted and hunted literally thousands of square miles of mule deer country and brings a wealth of knowledge about these experiences with him. To him, the weapon of choice is just a means-to-an-end and will hunt with bow, rifle, or muzzleloader – whatever it takes to create an opportunity to take a great mule deer. He is also the author of "Hunting Big Mule Deer" available on Amazon. Robby believes all of creation is from God for man to manage, respect, and through which to know its Creator

  1. I’m on pins and needles Robby! You’re quite blessed to see a buck like Jalapeno once, let alone to be so close as many times as you have.

  2. Not sure what the weather is doing where Robby is but it is windy as hell in Carey. Hopefully he’s got a good stiff wind and just waiting for the brute to stand up.

  3. That’s tough Robby 🙁 . Didn’t look like he was heading three counties away and as long as you’ve been after I’m hoping you have an idea where to look. Good hunting !

  4. Hi Shrek. Good to see you on the blog. He never saw or smelled me, so he didn’t blow out of there too bad. I approached the bluff slowly but came out too exposed. I backed up 3 yards and sneaked out again with a bush in front of me, but he heard me that time. You never know what they’re gonna do.

  5. It’s amazing to see that a mega dude buck, makes even a great looking buck seem like a young un’… Great update!

  6. Oww. That was rough to watch. Glad to know you’re not alone up there Robby, cause that must be a tough pill to swallow. Tomorrow isn’t too far away, go get him!

  7. Awesome video, Have fun, just remember, you are in Gods hands, he is in control of your soul, keep your spiritual eyes on him and and your earthly eyes on the deer and landscape. No mater the outcome, you are still your children s hero and your wife’s knight in shining armor. I look forward to the hunt and the outcome.
