Sounds like 280ai or 7 SAUM is what you're looking for. Or if you hand load the Sherman cartridges are getting pretty popular. I'm a big fan of 7mm but I was in the same situation with the recoil and the potential issues with reloading belted magnums, so I have both a 280ai and 7 Sherman MAX being built right now (which is just a slightly improved 7 SAUM).

If you want to push the easy button, get a T3x .270 and load it with Barnes TTXs 130s or if you reload use Hammer bullets.

Others to consider, but are currently out of fashion-

6.5x55 (all loaded to modern pressures -if in a strong action)

I want to build a 284win to slot between my shorty, suppressed 6.5CM Texas deer/pig rifle and my 26” 300wm.

The older I get the more I realize how versatile the 270 Winchester really is.

The first 270 I bought was to fill a gap. It’s a beautiful rifle but it sat in my safe for about 10 or 12 years before I even shot it. Then I mounted a scope, shot it and it became my primary rifle. Now I have 5 270’’s and don’t shoot much else.
I can get along pretty well with the 223, 270 and 375 for all my centerfire rifle needs.

When I get tired of the 270 barrel on my Tikka, I will most likely be going with a 280ai. 6.5-06 is very tempting also. Like others said, 280ai nips the heels of 7rm but much more efficient with less recoil.

I do have a suppressor but the 7 rem mag isnt threaded. Its a tika t3x . .
I didn't get this far when I said 25-06. Get a 6.5prc barrel for the Tikka, a bugnuts action wrench, and a barrel vice, and the leftover $$ a new stock. You'd have a rifle you can swap barrels on in a few minutes.

A little flatter than a 6.5 CM and less recoil than a 7 REM? You are pretty much looking at something that drives a 6.5 or similar size bullet faster than a 6.5 CM does. 6.8 western or the trendy new 6.5 rounds (RPM etc) fit the bill. 6.5-06 is probably a great choice. Maybe a hot 25-06 or 270 would do it also.
Edit to include 270 wsm.

25-06 my top choice
6.5-284 or 6.5-06
284win
338 Fed or 35 Whelen (on the med bore side) My #2 choice, just because I am interested in med bore but don't have one yet.

What would you consider for the cartridge between 6.5 creedbro and 7 rem mag ? Trying to diversify my safe a little bit . Little flatter than 6.5 and less recoil than 7 rem . 270 ? I realize this is dumb but hey I want a new rifle lol.

I am not sure about the flatter than the 6.5 Creedmoor, subject to the particular bullet / load, but the 7mm-08 would be my choice for a short action. I think it is an impressive little cartridge, though I don’t own one.

270 is the easy button. It will kill everything in NA, and before the present stupidity, ammo was everywhere. Launching a 130-140 grain bullet at 3K is impressive performance. BC is overrated and isn’t really coming into play until we’ll past most common hunting ranges.

Since we've killed elk with a 6.5x47, I'd go ahead and vote for a suppressor vs another rifle.
