Just listened to an episode of MeatEater podcast where Kevin Gillespie says they remove the blade, re-assemble the head without it and send a ball of saran wrap through. Anyone ever tried that one?

I was not a believer then I watched this video of turkey burgers and think its a great idea now.

I tried bread once and it made a mess. Stuck to everything and was a pain to clean.

I just run some of the already ground meat through then take it apart it and pull what’s left out by hand.

Someone asks about a backpack and soon it's how a 223 is plenty for moose or a 300wm isn't adequate for a deer. Just depends on which crowd gets there first.


Oh, wait, we still need to argue about monos for turkey.

Cause you can't grind up that lead shot into food you are feeding your family.


Now, had you posted in correct forum, maybe all this could be avoided.

I just grab some of the ground in the bowl and add it back in the grinder. It pushes out the unground stuff.

This is what I do. No need to mess with any foreign "chaser" material. Toss in some already ground meat behind the unground and when output stops, disassemble the grinder and scrape out what's left inside.

I use already ground meat as a chaser. When you disassemble the meat inside has already been ground so you will get everything. With my commercial grinders there is always about 1/4 lb of meat left on the blade and on the auger.
