No real backcountry around here, but I generally carry a Kahr PM9 in the woods and fields unless I am going there right from my usual day stuff and then I have a Sig full sized P-250 in 9 on me.

I also have a PM9 and those Sig P250's are nice guns.

Usually a Glock G29 10mm with 220gr hardcast but also have a Tarus 444 ultralight 44mag but take the Glock 90% of the time.

Old Model Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag with a 5.5" barrel
I know, heavy and old fashioned, but I'm kind of a traditionalist

ruger lcp .380
it keeps the two legged creatures honest and at least it'll make some noise for the 4 leggers.

i don't hunt grizz country and have only been challenged for my kill once by a bobcat.

Ruger gp100 in 357mag, or a ruger sr1911

I Have a Ruger SR1911, Commander size in all steel. Has all the bells and whistles I would want without spending at least twice as much on a custom gun. A bit heavy, but I like the gun a lot.

I Only carry when I’m packing out meat. It’s been a Springfield XD mod 2 .45 acp the past two years. .Still like my glock, but those Springfield pistols are really nice.

Smith & Wesson 57-5 Mountain Gun in .41 Magnum. In the back country, .41 Mag "Keith" loads usually, if I venture into more populated area's usually loaded with .41 Special's.
