It’s going to be a busy week on the Rok Blog as I start posting on my preparation for my Idaho Backcountry Hunt.  Before I get to that, I need to announce the winner of the excellent book “Advancements in Long Range Shooting” by Brian Litz and recently reviewed by Rokslide’s Long Range Editor, Sam Millard.  If you missed that great review, see Modern Advancements in Long Range Shooting

As usual, I used Random.org’s number generator and matched the winning number to Bruce Cooper!

Yip, that’s the same Bruce Cooper who won the Athens Bow and the B&C Awards book giveaway.  I promise I’m not playing favorites here.  Bruce is very active on Rokslide and the Rok Blog and that has paid off.

Bruce, all you need to do is post in the comments below AND send me an email at [email protected] with your shipping address (you think I’d have it memorized by now).  You have 10 days to claim your book or I’ll draw for another winner.

For the rest of you, you can still purchase a copy of the book by clicking here: Applied Ballistics Website

Stay close, as I’ll start posting on preparing for a backcountry horseback hunt within the next few days…

Robby Denning
Robby Denning started hunting mule deer in the late 1970’s, only missing one season in 35 years. At 25, he gave up the pursuit of all other big-game to focus on taking the best bucks possible. He began hunting the West on a DIY budget hunting an average of 30 days a year for mule deer. Robby loves the hunt as much as the kill and the entire process from research to scouting to hunting. He’s killed four bucks over 200 inches in the last 15 seasons, mostly on easily-obtained tags. He owns a public-land scouting service and runs a private-land outfitting business helping other hunters in their pursuit of deer and elk. Robby has scouted and hunted literally thousands of square miles of mule deer country and brings a wealth of knowledge about these experiences with him. To him, the weapon of choice is just a means-to-an-end and will hunt with bow, rifle, or muzzleloader – whatever it takes to create an opportunity to take a great mule deer. He is also the author of "Hunting Big Mule Deer" available on Amazon. Robby believes all of creation is from God for man to manage, respect, and through which to know its Creator

My son who just left for basic a few short weeks ago, said he thought it would be a great book for him to read since he is getting into long range shooting. Thank you again for this great book and the chance to win it. Love the blog. Good luck on your hunt, and keep them pics coming.
