Merry CHRISTmas everyone.

As promised, it’s time to announce the winner of the The Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12 x 42 with BDC Reticle

We’re giving away the Diamondback HP to one lucky Rok Blog subscriber who followed my recent hunt Hunting the Rut & Migration

Following the rules here, I conducted the preliminary drawing on Tuesday.  Everyone had 24 hours to respond and I heard from all but one person (man is he going to be bummed when he opens his email).  I drew for an alternate and he responded immediately.  There were 5 finalists and two of those had shared the post on Facebook giving them an extra “name in the hat.”  Using random.org, I drew from those entries.  The winner?

Benjamin Wheelwright

Benjamin hails from Utah.  Benjamin, you just won a scope valued at $429!  I used this same scope in October for 12 days and found it a very quality scope and great for all yardages out to about 800.  I think you’ll agree.

You have five days to claim your scope by simply posting in the comment section below.  “Yee haws”, videos of backflips, and any expression of excitement are welcome.

For anyone who’s looking for a great scope for work under 800 yards, take a hard look at the The Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12 x 42 with BDC Reticle.  With Vortex’s world class customer service behind you, you can’t go wrong

Thank you everyone for following the hunt and for all the good feedback and comments.  I hope you learned something that will help you Take the Best Buck of Your Life

Robby Denning
Robby Denning started hunting mule deer in the late 1970’s, only missing one season in 35 years. At 25, he gave up the pursuit of all other big-game to focus on taking the best bucks possible. He began hunting the West on a DIY budget hunting an average of 30 days a year for mule deer. Robby loves the hunt as much as the kill and the entire process from research to scouting to hunting. He’s killed four bucks over 200 inches in the last 15 seasons, mostly on easily-obtained tags. He owns a public-land scouting service and runs a private-land outfitting business helping other hunters in their pursuit of deer and elk. Robby has scouted and hunted literally thousands of square miles of mule deer country and brings a wealth of knowledge about these experiences with him. To him, the weapon of choice is just a means-to-an-end and will hunt with bow, rifle, or muzzleloader – whatever it takes to create an opportunity to take a great mule deer. He is also the author of "Hunting Big Mule Deer" available on Amazon. Robby believes all of creation is from God for man to manage, respect, and through which to know its Creator
