Rokslide is all about backcountry hunting and the gear to get you there.  In that spirit, we want to bring you Boot Month on Rokslide.  What in tarnations is Boot Month?  It’s a month of focus on boots, that’s what!

Rokslide prostaff, staff, and members have written a huge body of reviews on boots we’ve all tested this last year.  You’ll see what worked, what needs some tweaking, and what to avoid.  You’ll also learn about boot maintenance from the professionals and how to break-in any boot.

I’ve spent the last month reading and uploading reviews.  I even wrote a few of my own.

We’ve also arranged for no less than three great boot giveaways from some of Rokslide’s top sponsors.  Sponsors like Schnee’s Boots, Black Ovis, and Lathrop and Sons.  This giveaway runs January 16th through February 16th. All you have to do is check out the reviews and enter.  Some of the giveaways require a Facebook account, but one doesn’t.  The details are in the links at the end of each article.  Good luck!  Even if you don’t win, I guarantee you’re going to learn something about boots—I know I did!

Here are a few of the boots in the giveaways:

We’ll draw for the winners shortly after February 16th.  Best of luck.  If you like what we’re doing on Rokslide and the Rok Blog, please tell a friend or share on Facebook.   It’s a ton of work to bring you all this, but if we can continue to grow, we can continue to offer great information (and gear!)

Robby Denning
Robby Denning started hunting mule deer in the late 1970’s, only missing one season in 35 years. At 25, he gave up the pursuit of all other big-game to focus on taking the best bucks possible. He began hunting the West on a DIY budget hunting an average of 30 days a year for mule deer. Robby loves the hunt as much as the kill and the entire process from research to scouting to hunting. He’s killed four bucks over 200 inches in the last 15 seasons, mostly on easily-obtained tags. He owns a public-land scouting service and runs a private-land outfitting business helping other hunters in their pursuit of deer and elk. Robby has scouted and hunted literally thousands of square miles of mule deer country and brings a wealth of knowledge about these experiences with him. To him, the weapon of choice is just a means-to-an-end and will hunt with bow, rifle, or muzzleloader – whatever it takes to create an opportunity to take a great mule deer. He is also the author of "Hunting Big Mule Deer" available on Amazon. Robby believes all of creation is from God for man to manage, respect, and through which to know its Creator

Love the knowledge on here and hate being a fulltime student. Makes buying most of these products hard. I did just buy a lanthrop and son foot pad that I’m waiting on, so I’m starting somwhere,. Thanks for the opportunity guys. Colin
